Mally Skok Design
An internationally published interior, fabric and wallpaper designer working between Boston, Cape Town and Plett — and one of the few textile artists whose work begins with watercolour. Each Mally Skok design starts as a hand-rendered painting in her studio: drawn, coloured, layered, then screen-printed onto linen or linen-cotton in the United States. The result is a collection with the hand-made character of an original painting and the working durability of a trade-specified textile.
Mally Skok is a South African-born designer who lived and worked in London before moving to the Boston area in the mid-1990s, where she built a residential interior design practice known for layering the new with the old in warm, colour-confident interiors. A trip to India with her sister became the studio's first textile collection — and, with the mentorship of American textile designer Peter Fasano, the Mally Skok Design fabric and wallpaper line launched in 2009.
The collection has since grown to more than 100 fabric designs and 50 wallpaper patterns across her India Collection, Africa Collection and broader range — with new designs introduced every year.
Mally Skok Design is available in Australia exclusively through MOTIVO. Custom colourways are available on request through the studio — useful when working to a specific palette, a feature room, or a hospitality fitout where the standard colour range needs adapting.
Samples, full design specifications and trade pricing are available on request.
