Cloth & Clover
Cloth & Clover has been born out of an enduring love for fabrics and interiors combined with a fascination for the many traditional processes and skills involved in their design and manufacture.
We are passionate about supporting and encouraging local creativity and craftsmanship and so our fabrics and accessories are designed and printed in England. We are mindful of our impact on the environment and make every effort to ensure that we produce our goods without causing undue harm to our precious planet.
Ferran was formed in 2000 by New York city based designer and creative director Kathryn Ferran Kayajan. A former architectural designer, Kayajan attended the school of the museum of fine arts in Boston and Parsons School of Design in NYC. She then worked professionally for the esteemed architectural firm Gensler; inspired by the creative process she formed her own company. Ferran designs are inspired through Kayajan's extensive travels around the globe, her patterns are imagined from places and cultures with a hint to the past, combined with her artisan sensibility, is what gives Ferran its unique relaxed and fresh but classic style.
Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Mally Skok honed her sense of design in London in the ’80s before crossing the pond to Boston 18 years ago. A lifelong fan of the relaxed English approach to interior design, she is also deeply influenced by her frequent travels, as evidenced by her artisanal wallpaper and fabric lines with names like the India Collection, the Africa Collection, Ikat Crazy, and Suzani Luv. She proudly produces her beautiful products right in her home state.
Nichola Taylorson creates bespoke handmade luxury textiles, which are hand printed, combined with digital and hand embroidery, creating a tactile contemporary range of fabrics.
Her ideas and inspiration come from an extensive stint living and working in India, where she learnt many new design techniques, and her love of craft and traditional processes grew. It was while in India that her business idea was born and began to blossom. She combines contemporary design methods with traditional craft and natural materials.
By doing all of the artwork by hand, stenciling it themselves onto the acetates used for shooting screens, they were able to retain the rich, hand stenciled look for which they have become known. For some very special projects they are even able to combine hand printing and hand stenciling, resulting in fabrics which are both rich and sumptuous. Although the fabric is hand printed domestically, these beautiful silk grounds are all hand woven and hand dyed by artisans in Asia.
